First fall camp... how is it going?
It’s going good. I got here during spring ball so I had my chance to adapt to the speed of the game then. Now it’s just getting in the extra reps and getting ready for gameday.
What has it been like learning coach Anae’s offense?
It’s amazing. I’m not going to lie to you. He’s an amazing person, and his offense is amazing. You guys will see this season for sure.
Is it interesting you went through the recruiting process not knowing who he was?
It was definitely interesting because I didn’t know too much about coach Anae, and then he came to see me before I came down here. We talked and stuff. When I got up here we started to build our relationship up. It’s been great.
Brennan Armstrong... what’s the connection like?
We’ve definitely been building a connection. There’s certain stuff we’re working on, but I feel like at this point it’s been going good.
Leadership from Armstrong...
It’s good because on certain plays where I don’t know where to go or I’ll mess up he’ll come over and talk to me and stuff. He’ll tell me where I need to be at so he can get me the ball.
How much have the older wide receivers been helpful for you?
They’ve been very helpful. They welcomed me in with open arms. It feels like a brotherhood here.
Are you feeling the nerves going into the season?
Yes... not really nerves, it’s an excitement factor.
What surprised you about fall camp?
The defense is faster and the guys are huge. They are huge. It’s not anything a little adjustment can’t get used to.
Are you surprised when younger players look up to you?
I’m definitely surprised, but I try to be a bigger role model for everybody so when they look at me they see somebody who is just always on point with himself.
