Brennan Armstrong: "These Guys Are Willing To Work"
NC State star quarterback Brennan Armstrong touched on a variety of topics with the print media at the 2023 ACC Football Kickoff. Here is additional video from his sit-down interview.

“I’m looking forward to seeing the guys, but it’s gametime when I go there.”
“They are eager because they felt like they... didn’t hold up their end of the bargain... coach Anae, beating them at Syracuse and causing their No. 1 defense in the ACC trouble, has credibility with the guys.”
“That’s all I can ask for. They are eager... that’s all I can ask for. These guys are willing to work hard and play hard, and that’s all I want as a quarterback.”
“It’s going to be a great way to connect with someone new right away. I’ll be a voice for him... I’m looking forward to it. Hopefully I can be helpful for him football-wise.”
“We’ve shown the offense can be successful.”
“I keep seeing the worry with the wide receivers. In coach Anae’s offense we get guys to play higher, with higher potential. We get guys in good positions to be successful... giving them confidence and letting them line up quick and play fast, it’s a recipe for success.”
“It was a big shakeup [at Virginia]. I’m not going to blame it on that. I knew what I was coming back to and I felt it could be successful... it didn’t work out. I knew our guy there was gone, our boys up front were gone, but I was optimistic and I wanted to end my career there. I gave it a go, it didn’t work and that’s why I went in the portal and now I’m here. So, that’s all I can ask for. I gave it a shot and it didn’t work.”
“I feel old. I’ve been around the ACC and seen tons of familiar faces.”
“I guess it’s cool in a way... I don’t know if I embody the ACC. I try to be presentable [laughing].”
“We still have a lot of work to do. The expectations. Everyone expects the high of the high. I think we can expect to try and be the top offense in the ACC. If we’re that, we’re in good shape. That’s all we can really ask for.”
“Fall camp is going to be really enjoyable, see guys step up.”
“He was on my tail constantly.. he was on my butt about everything, I didn’t enjoy [coach Anae] much... I remember getting ripped.”
“I just started maturing. It’s not personal. When you’re young you take it all personal... it’s just who he is too. It’s one of his characteristics of coaching and as years go on you become tighter.”
