NOTES: Landing a tight end in the 2018 recruiting class was critical for NC State, and the Wolfpack picked up a huge commitment on December 30th from Cary Angeline.
Angeline elected to transfer from Southern Cal this season, and the redshirt freshman brings a unique skillset to the table.
The 6-foot-7, 245-pounder was a stud during his prep career at Exton (PA) Downingtown East High School. As a senior in 2015 he totaled 47 receptions for 826 yards (17.6 avg) and 13 touchdowns, and Angeline finished his career with 147 receptions for 2,333 yards and 29 touchdowns.
A former basketball star (he averaged 23 points and 12 rebounds as a junior at Downingtown East), Angeline does a great job of using his size to overwhelm defenders, and he has outstanding hands.
He's more "move" tight end than in-line blocker, and it's easy to see why Angeline landed offers from programs like Aabama, USC, Notre Dame, Florida, and Florida State among others.
He's a potential difference-maker for the Wolfpack.
