NC State just landed a commitment from Arizona State grad transfer guard DJ Horne‍, who will be returning home to finish his college career in Raleigh.

Horne averaged 12.2 points and 2.4 assists per game his past season, leading Arizona State to the NCAA Tournament. He was a preseason all-Pac-12 selection and was previously a second-team All-Pac-12 selection in 2021-22 when he averaged 12.5 points and 1.9 assists for the Sun Devils.

At 6-foot-2, Horne starred at Illinois State prior to his stint at Arizona State.  His best season was in 2020-2021 when Horne averaged 15.1 points and 2.7 assists while shooting 44.6% from the field.  At ISU he also played alongside current NC State big man Dusan Mahorcic‍.

What he may do best is shoot the basketball.  That season at ISU he also shot a blistering 42.4% from three-point range on 144 attempts.  For his career Horne is shooting 37.9% from three-point range and he’s hit 253 career three-pointers.

Horne will have one year of eligibility and picked the Wolfpack over Wake Forest and others.

Stay tuned for more from Inside Pack Sports on Horne’s decision.
