Smith, Joiner, Burns Earn All-ACC Honors
NC State's Terquavion Smith, Jarkel Joiner, and D.J. Burns earned 2022-23 All-ACC Men's Basketball Team honors Monday evening.
Smith and Joiner were each named to the All-ACC Second Team, joining Duke’s Kyle Filipowski, Miami’s Jordan Miller, and Pitt’s Blake Hinson. Meanwhile, Burns was named an honorable mention.
Both Wolfpack guards finished the regular season with 17.3 points per game. Smith dished out 135 assists and pulled down 108 rebounds while also tallying 47 steals and 12 blocks. Joiner grabbed 148 boards, assisted 108 baskets, and recorded 41 steals. Burns currently averages 13.1 points per game with 157 rebounds, 48 assists, 27 blocks, and 22 steals.
Joiner also received two votes for Player of the Year while Kevin Keatts picked up two votes for Coach of the Year. Casey Morsell also received consideration for Most Improved Player, garnering three votes.
The 2022-23 All-ACC Team was determined by a 75-member panel consisting of the league’s 15 head coaches and 60 members of the media The Atlantic Coast Conference’s full release can be found here. The Wolfpack opens conference tournament play Wednesday night versus either Virginia Tech or Notre Dame at 9:30 p.m. inside Greensboro Coliseum.
