“Virginia Tech has a great team, a veteran team, a well-coached team.  We knew we were going to have a challenge anyway, so we were a little short-handed today.”

“I’m proud of our team to be honest with ya.  Aziaha James had to play point guard for the first time ever for us, and we had to kind of gut it out together.”

“We did a lot of great things, but they have a great team and everybody out there can score.”

“When we gave up 29 points in the second quarter we knew we were in trouble.”

“Diamond, to be honest with you, is going to be out for a while. We’re going to see if we can try to get her healthy, maybe shut her down until the postseason or whatever. See if that ankle will heal.”

“Saniya Rivers, I’d anticipate she’d be back by Thursday. She had a scratched eye in the Carolina game and is still having a little blurred vision and things like that. Hopefully we’ll get her back.”

“Diamond has been hurt all year. She got hurt the first semester, sat her out a few  games, tried to come back and it hasn’t been going well. She’s going to try and take extended time off to see if we can get her healthy for the postseason.”

“I thought Aziaha James did a great job. She can score the ball at all three levels. She did some good things, especially being thrown out there at a position she probably doesn’t know as well.”

“We had three point guards at one time and tonight we didn’t have any. I thought Aziaha did a great job in that situation.”

“Aziaha sometimes gets a little out of control, it happened a couple of times today, but she’s learned to stay a little more composed and take care of the ball a little better. Still a work in progress, but she’s a great talent and probably gaining confidence as well... she did a great job. She played great Thursday night also.”

“We tried man, we tried zone, we were trying to double some. They have so many scorers so you can’t take away everything.”

“I probably should have called a timeout.”

“They do a great job. It’s tough to score on them... they have great basketball IQ.”

“They remind me a lot of the way we were a year ago when we’d had kids who’d been here four or five years... they have a great team.”

“Kenny is a great coach. He’s done an unbelievable job up here. We have a common interest in the Dallas Cowboys and we enjoy talking about that... I think his kids are well-coached, he develops them.”

“It’s very fluid now. It’s interesting to see how Kenny and I both adapt to that.”

“We’ll see. I’m not into moral victories, don’t get me wrong.  We lost, but I’m proud of them in the way they played.”

“I can’t even think about the ACC Tournament. We still have two games left and I’m in to one game at a time.”
