NC State Recruiter: George McDonald
Who Did He Pick NC State Over? Syracuse, Rutgers, Maryland, and Virginia among others
IPS Take On Davontae McCrae: Rinse and repeat for NC State's prep defensive line signees... jumbo athletes who can play all across the defensive front.
Davontae McCrae fits the mold.
At 6-foot-4 and 255 pounds he has the size to play defensive end, but look for McCrae to bulk up and play defensive tackle at NC State. He plays with a tenacity you need in the trenches, and he has strong hands and good athleticism.
He added offers late in the process from Virginia and Maryland which suggests he showed even more as a senior, and he's a player that Wolfpack defensive line coach Kevin Patrick is high on.
McCrae will likely redshirt in 2018 before entering the mix for playing time in 2019.
