Tanner Ingle

Who Did He Pick NC State Over? Tennessee, Virginia Tech, Boston College, and Syracuse among others

IPS Take On Tanner Ingle: Tanner Ingle is a player the staff believes can see the field as a true freshman.

He'll get a long look on special teams at returner and also should be in the mix to play at nickelback.

He's considered a natural playmaker who should add explosiveness the team has lacked in the secondary.  A fun player to watch, the staff has coveted Ingle for a long time, despite his early verbal commitment to Tennessee.

The Wolfpack coaches offered him as a sophomore and followed his progress while pursuing 2016 commitment Nick Smith, who ultimately signed with Florida.  Ingle played with Smith at Dr. Phillips, and last year was when Ingle really burst on the scene.

Nationally, he's underrated because he lacks ideal height, but he's a really, really good football player who is "off the charts" from a character standpoint.  NC State needs to become more explosive on defense and special teams, and Ingle can provide that.
