VIDEO: Ricky Person's Three Shrine Bowl Touchdowns
NC State four-star commitment Ricky Person put on a show in the 2017 Shrine Bowl. Starting at tailback for the North Carolina squad, Person rushed for 180 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries, and he added another 23 yards receiving and a score on three receptions.
North Carolina won the game 55-24, and Person ended the contest with a 72-yard touchdown run on the final play. For his efforts he was named Outstanding Offensive Player for North Carolina.
"I had a great time out there," Person said after the game. "I loved the time I spent with my team. This bowl game opened my eyes up to a lot of things. We were very blessed to be out there playing today for such a great cause, and really that's what it was all about.
"For me, I wanted to show people that I can be a missing piece. I wanted to show people what I can do after missing most of my junior year with an injury... just show all the improvements I've made to my game."
An early enrollee, Person will enroll at NC State in January after participating in the US Army All-American Bowl.
