Tony just talked about the fact that you guys flush out the loss from Saturday. Does this one a little bit tougher to flush?
I feel like it is any other loss, but yeah, this one a little tougher. Just knowing that I feel that play with the PI, I feel like that shouldn't have been called. It was a great play by Drake. I just feel like that was for the downside, would've got us off the field, would've won the game.
How tough was that for the seniors specifically, too?
I feel for them boys just going out like that on the play or it should have been a pass breakup and getting them off the field. So I feel for them, what happened on that play.
Looking forward, don't exactly know who you're going to face at quarterback this upcoming in the week, but trying to prepare for a guy like Malik Cunningham. How much pressure has that put on everybody defensively if he rolls out of the pocket?
We just have to play how we've been playing, with the D-line contained and the DB's just playing the deep ball. We just got to play how we've been playing. I feel like it'll take care of itself.
When you think back to Christ School days, how much have you changed both as a player and as a person?
Well I feel like Christ School sets you up to become a man and that's the one thing I appreciate about them. Just as a person, just, the connects you have here, it's kind of the same as Christ School, just bettering you as a man and on football aspect, just like the lifting, the speed of the game and just the knowledge.
Do you think your pass defense has improved since a year ago?
Just my film study. I really learned how to watch film offseason when I was hurt. So that helped me a lot just looking at splits, reading shoulders, reading demeanor and all that stuff.
Did I see somewhere that you had to get new contacts?
Yeah, I had to get contacts.
Well, I had contacts back in seventh grade, but then I had stopped wearing them and then they had told me ... I did a little eye test in the training room, it was like, we should go to the Dr. Blackwell and go get contacts. So I just went, got contacts and I feel like that helped a lot. Just seeing my depth perception of the ball and all that.
How tough is it not having a guy like Tyler Baker-Williams out there? Obviously you played several games earlier in the season without him, but weren't able to play with him this past weekend. How much has that changed the defense too?
I feel like it just should be next man up. That's what the motto we been living by, next man up. So whoever can step in that role, I trust him that they'll be able to do the job as good as TB.
You mentioned film study; the Central Arkansas transfer seems to be their volume receiver. What do you kind of see when you watch him on film for Louisville?
They try to get him a ball a lot to get him the ball a lot. So he really just having to really keep him in front of us, read his demeanor when he is coming off the ball. And I feel like the film study will also take care of itself looking at splits and all that.
