“That was a huge play. We spent a lot of time down there last week practice-wise. They have good schemes there. Sam [Hartman] does such a great job of hiding the ball, pulling it, and making some good throws. They got us the last couple of years down there. We really worked, and the guys came up huge.”

“You know, we’ve always believed. We never had any issue with believing. Was that another step? Yes. Was that a huge win for our program? Yes, but it didn’t change our mindset. Our mindset every week is go in and play that way. Defensively, I’ve been proud of these kids. They’ve played their tail off all year long. I like where we’re at. They approach practice every day the same and game day the same, and they don’t change. As far as believing, we’ve always believed. I have no issue with that part.”

“[Emmett Morehead] played really well against Duke. He threw the ball well. He’s a big kid. It’s almost like two different offenses when you watch the veteran play and break his game, and then you throw the freshman kid Morehead in. It’s a little bit different what they’re doing and how they’re trying to attack you. This kid can throw the ball. They max protect and try to get one-on-ones with [Zay] Flowers down the field. That kid’s dynamic. He’s a special player.”

“I love the way M.J. [Morris] carries himself. He doesn’t ever seem to get rattled. We went against him in fall camp a bunch. We get to go against him in practice every day. He’s got that it-factor about him. He’s poised. He doesn’t get rattled. The game isn’t too big or too fast for him. I’m glad he’s on our team right now. He’s playing really well. I wish I got to watch him a little more, but I don’t get to.”

“It’s going to be emotional. I’ve got to go back to recruiting again, so we’ve got to try and recruit some of these guys that are walking to come back. I hate to lose all these guys. They’re a special group. I don’t know I’ve ever had one with this many guys who’ve contributed so much to building a defense. It’s going to be an emotional day for all of us."
