A year ago you're probably preparing for Greensboro Grimsley, now you're making big plays against Virginia Tech. Does it feel like a whirlwind?
Yeah, it's surreal really. Yeah, like you said, last year I was getting ready for Grimsley. It's the game of the state really, and now I'm just college. Time flies really.
What's it been like building chemistry with MJ now that he's the starting quarterback?
It's great. We used to throw in the summers when I first got down here. Before we even started touching balls in the summer we just threw in the indoor going over routes and stuff, so the chemistry's always been there. Just coming in with him made it easier.
How have you kept a clear line of communication with, I'm sure at some point this year you thought maybe you'd redshirt. At other points you thought maybe you'll get your five games in. How have you approached that?
I just put my head down at work. What happens, happens. Everything happens for a reason. I just put my head down and work every day, come into work.
I'm assuming you were on scout team early and then you worked your way up. What point did you start getting more and more looks?
I would say whoever we played before Syracuse, I believe probably after UCONN I think is when I started getting on the varsity field. Like I said, just put my head down and worked, really that's all you got to do, good things happen.
You got some guys like Devin Carter, Thayer... and they're time and experience, what have you learned from them?
You just look and see what they do, do what they do. I mean, they're great, great receivers. I look at DC, I look at Daryl, like you said they're... Keyon. All them are just great examples of how to be a good receiver, and good people really.
What do you remember about meeting MJ for the first time and what his personality was like?
I met him at the Clemson game last year, we came on a visit. Man, he was just cool, just vibing, really just taking it all in on the field together. We knew it was going to be our time one day, it was coming.
Walk me through that first catch against Virginia Tech, the deep ball.
Well they just put me in, told me to run deep, just run the post. I ran it, saw the ball, I jumped up and got it like instant really.
