“Proud of our guys. I’ll take the tape, go back and look at some things and see what we need to clean up.”

“We had 25 [deflections] at the half... we try to get 20 per half and we were +5 at the start of the second half.”

“We were able to work. Terquavion Smith, I wanted him to become more of a two-way player and he led us in steals with four.”

“Jarkel Joiner can really dog his guy.”

“It was great.  I didn’t play Greg in the scrimmage because I wanted him to get an extra few days in before I put him out there. It shows their length and ability to switch one-five and ability to play different positions.”

“I like our team. I wanted to go out and find some experienced guys. When you looked at us last year, our four guards were freshmen and sophomores. At our center, two had to play who really didn’t play as freshmen... we went out to try and surround Terquavion Smith with older guys.”

“I like our energy.”

“The one thing we’ve asked from every player, and even through recruiting, is 100% buy-in... this is a new age where there will always be new pieces and transfers.”

“I’m looking for guys who can play for NC State. If we play for NC State, I think we’ll be fine.”

“We had 79 shots tonight in a game. It’s enough for everybody to be succesful.”

“I give a lot of credit to Jarkel.  Here is a guy who has transferred from the SEC and he’s kind of taken Terquavion under his wing as an older guy... he’s excited about playing with him.”

“They love playing together.”

“I’m excited. Basketball is here. We’ve had a long summer, and it’s a long summer with a lot of different pieces and changes.”

“Both of them are very unselfish. In our scrimmage Terquavion led us in assists.  He had six in that one... Jarkel had five and then six tonight.  They know they can score the ball, but for us to be successful they need to get others involved.”

“We’ll be a committee rebounding team.  Jack Clark has been our best rebounder in four games.”

“We want to be better on the defensive end.”
