Hey everyone thought I'd mix it up with an off-topic question for all the Wolfpack fans here.
I've been experimenting with different drinks to sip during long game nights and football weekends. One that caught my eye recently is SelvaRey Owner's Reserve, a Panamanian sipping rum made by Don Francisco Fernndez. It's bottled at 40% ABV and from what I've read it's meant to be smooth and balanced more for slow sipping than cocktails.

I'm curious what you all prefer when watching games:
  • Do you go with beer, bourbon, rum, something else, or nothing at all?
  • Anyone here tried this rum or have other sipping rums you enjoy?
  • Do you have different go-to drinks for football vs basketball nights?
Just looking to broaden my game-day rituals and hear what the Pack fanbase likes.

Completely depends on the mood/timing of the game. Later in the day, likely to be some sort of cocktail. Earlier in the day, probably water or a Gatorade.

Did dry January and think I am just going to roll with it for the time being, so probably sticking to Gatorade for a while

Football is definitely more beer (Victory Golden Monkey in the kegerator currently) but basketball leans more towards a bourbon with a couple cubes of ice. Later in the evening the less volume I want. Nothing fancy either way.

Depends, some games it's diet coke or Sprite Zero. Other games, it's cheap beer. Coors or Busch. lol

Football was always PBR. Don't ask me why. Maybe it was because no one ever had Stroh's

Back when Winn-Dixie was still in business, this is what a lot of broke college kids went for.

I'm generally a beer guy during games. If I know I'm making a day of it though, I'll mix in some vodka sodas or go to the brown water late in the day. Occasionally I'll mix in a bumbu rum, but don't drink much of that because it's so sweet. It's quite tasty though.

LOLOLOLOL. Reminds me of the packaging at that old "Generic" grocery store that used to be in one of the basement positions at that old "South Hills" plaza or mall or whatever it used to be way back in the day off of Buck Jones Road.

I'm sure Glass at least will remember the place I'm talking about...

C'mon Beta... we all know your "go to" is still Zima.

Don't go trying to act all Alpha for us here now on the drinking thread... I'm not buying it!!!

I mean I'm always down for a PBR as well. That's probably my dive bar go to beer or if I just need to maintain for a bit.
