Honestly, some things said on the campaign trail you hear and you're like, yeah, that would be cool but will never ever happen. Well, it was delivered tonight.

Love this for those trying to survive working service jobs, OT jobs and living on SS. A win for working class people.

Interestingly, one party voted unanimously against it.

The first and second planks of The Communist Manifesto call for the income tax and property tax. LITERALLY and EXPLICITLY. People need to look that up and read it for themselves.

Taxation is the RELIGION of Marxist-socialist-communist "Leftist" political movements, including the Democrat party.

But taxation can never create wealth or a more prosperous society. It can only destroy wealth, kill work ethic and entrepreneurialism, and make us LESS prosperous as a society. And that is the goal of the Marxists - to enslave the masses.

Can't wait to see $2T in cuts that can't happen without touching entitlements. Better get those magic beans planted!

Oh I think we can get pretty close without doing anything to entitlements. This bill does nothing to those programs and Dems still voted against it. They should just come out and say they hate Americans, honestly some have (Omar).

Has it gotten by the Senate? The Senate Republicans don't sound nearly as supportive. That said, the SS part will soon apply to me and I'd like to learn more if it passes both houses.

No, still has a ways to go. Getting it out of the House, IMO, was a really big deal though. The GOP better figure out how to get it through given they are the majority and this is a Trump plan.

The cuts are to committee budgets, as the various committees are what fund the various government programs. Food and ag funds food stamps and various other programs. Commerce funds Medicaid among other things. I mention those two as the budget does not explicitly list those entitlements by name but by requiring 880 billion in cuts to the commerce committee, it all but assures Medicaid will not only be cut but be nearly gutted. Likewise, some 230 billion or so is required by the ag committee. In both instances, it is nearly unavoidable to make significant cuts to both programs - pretty sure if commerce cut everything non-Medicaid related, it would still be some 600 billion short of the requirement. F the poor guys! High five!

But hey, they can just get another service industry gig and not get taxed on those tips. That way, they can buy their own healthcare!

As I understand things, this bull isn't going to affect the deficit that much…. Now, I'm also hearing that Trump is going to test this Unified Executive Theory (don't know the real name) where an allotted budget doesn't have to be fully used. So, if the Admin can do it for less, then they can give it back. I'm still trying to understand how impounding works and it may be used.

The only thing I know about impoundment is that it was precedentially established over much of the history of the nation, and when Congress decided they needed their pork to flow unimpeded, they passed the Impoundment Control Act of 1974. That statute is awaiting USSC review for its constitutionality, I suspect.

The one where the wolf does come and scatter the flock but no one in the village believed it because it was said so many times before? Not sure that's a great story to bring up lol

Well, in 25+ plus years Dems have been saying the same broken, tired garbage and nothing is come from it or even considered. Just propaganda being pushed by MSM per usual to sow division as that's all the Dems know how to do tbh. But, keep drinking, sure it tastes good to some!

Keep drinking what? Story analogies that make no sense?

Who did I vote for? What are my values? You're apparently no different from the plethora of morons on this forum that don't understand nuance and buy into the same stupid ass black and white worldview the dems have. Just too ignorant to know you're the other side of the same coin.

Maybe it brings you comfort being the polar opposite of Smapty. At the end of the day, you both want the same outcome, just different paths to get to the same place.

Ah, good ole name calling. Very demure.

The fun part is watching people show their true selves.

It's always powerful when a promise actually turns into actionespecially one that supports working-class people and those relying on Social Security. Moments like this highlight how policies can uplift those often overlooked and reflect ongoing efforts toward building a more just and equitable society.
