I want to see what all kinds of shows WPN watches when there isn't a game on. What are your "go-to" top 3 television series of all-time??

I'll start off with mine:

1. The Sopranos
2. Breaking Bad
3. The Office

Could replace The Office with Parks and Rec and be just as accurate. I know, I know, my 3 are basically people's choice type picks but I just love them. What does everyone else rank in their top 3??
It appears my hypocrisy knows no bounds.

Airwolf
A-Team
Streethawk

J/k (although that would have been my 1980's list)

Adult version:

The Wire
Mad Men
GoT

My 3 favorites because of watching with my family
Andy Griffith Show
The Office
Everybody Loves Raymond

But there are a slew of newer shows on streaming networks that are really really good that are better produced and acted than those, but have not seen dozens of times on syndication

Does Band of Brothers count as a show? Assuming no based on its short run.

2. Game of Thrones
3. The Sopranos

I finally watched GoT fully this passed summer. Epic television. After like season 4 I just kind of lost touch with it. It's definitely top-10 for me I just feel like that show could have finished a couple seasons shorter. The first 2-3 seasons are for sure some of the best TV I've ever seen though.

Similar to GoT, I have watched like half of the first season of The Wire. I love it, just haven't been able to dedicate the proper time to it to give it an actual watch. I think I watched the first couple episodes of GoT before it finally 'stuck'.

Man I go to sleep every night to reruns of Raymond. Simply some of the best TV to ever air. If you can't laugh at that show something is wrong with you haha

I don't really have three, as I don't really watch much tv. With that said, I sure do miss the Sopranos. What a show!

I want to start on Jack Ryan. Started binging Suits a couple of weeks ago and I'm kinda getting burned out on it.

All of them were probably a season too long, but they were great shows

I've stated it previously, that the last season, epitomizes how half the country, feels about where we are…

For those that liked The Sopranos, have any of you watched the movie that came out a couple years ago, I can't remember the name but I think Gandolfini's son was in it? I am thinking of checking it out but wasn't sure if it was worth it.

It's called The Many Saints of Newark. I thought it was just ok. Honestly hard to go back and try to tell any stories around such an awesome show. Gandolfini's kid did a respectable job. The last couple scenes kinda got me going to watch the series again. I'd say you owe it a watch but don't expect to be mind blown. IMHO.

Sounds good - I figure I invested so much time in the series that a couple hours of the movie couldn't hurt.

I loved The Sopranos when it came out. Even watched it a 2nd time. To me, it's just not a show I can watch on repeat. Takes it down a few notches for me. I'd almost say that Boardwalk Empire is more rewatchable. *ducks*

Might be recency bias, but I don't think any show will ever top Succession for me.

Out of curiosity, how does BB and BCS stack up against one another for you? I know it's hard to compare the two but dammit BCS has some moments that push it on up there with BB

Good call on *****ts Creek. The last season was unwatchable, but at its peak it was really good

I can literally laugh out loud to the commentary on that show
Sad thing some of the lines used on that show would likely create a lot of controversy on network TV these days (the scene where Frank calls Raymond a "Nancy", lol)

I saw the episode the other day where they thought Robert was gay. Boy some of Frank's comments would not land home today.

Also, how about King of Queens?? Just quality TV, man.

lol, yeah saw that one episode as well and exactly, some powerful folks would be offended

One i didn't think about but has risen to the top of my list of faves, just not enough to episodes: Ted Lasso.

Man, that show knocked it out of the park in addition to just being funny with endearing characters

Man…Ted Lasso was such a hit for my wife and I. Just such a feel-good show. Honestly reminds me of an adult spin-off of Parks and Rec. Kind of the same comedy just in a more adult setting.

I give the edge to BB. But you're right - it's hard for a sequel/prequel of any great show or movie to live up to the original, but BCS did it. I think BB gets the nod just because it led the way.
