COMMIT ALERT: 2023 Guard Laci Steele Picks NC State

2023 shooting guard Laci Steele just announced her commitment to NC State.

The Central Oklahoma Athletic Conference Player of the Year, Steele averaged 21.9 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.7 steals per game last season.  

"My strengths are I can score on all three levels,” Steele previously stated.  “I'm a really good shooter, and I can pass it well. I'm an all-around player with a high IQ.  I can improve my shooting for college because there the three-point line is further back, so I want to continue extending my range and shooting off screens.”

She is rated a Top 60 prospect by ESPN and picked the Wolfpack over finalists Georgia Tech, Northwestern, USC, and Texas A&M.

“They have a great basketball team and done well in the past,” Steele previously said of NC State.  “Their fans are amazing and they sell out most conference games in their stadium.  The coaching staff is great.  That’s their main selling points."

Steele is NC State’s third 2023 commitment, joining point guard Zoe Brooks (No. 33 ESPN) and post Mallory Collier (No. 44 ESPN).  Steele is rated No. 56 overall in the ESPN 2023 recruiting rankings.
