The NC State women's basketball team announced a home-and-home series with SEC opponent South Carolina on Thursday. The Wolfpack will make the trip to Columbia during 2020-21 non-conference play, and the Gamecocks will return with a trip to Raleigh during the 2021-22 non-conference slate.

The first game in that series is set to be played on Thursday, Dec. 3 inside Colonial Life Arena in Columbia, S.C. Tip-off time, ticket information and a television designation for that matchup will be announced at a later date.

NC State is coming off of one of its best seasons in its 46-year history during which it capped off the year by winning the 2020 ACC Tournament title for the first time since 1991. The Pack ended the season ranked eighth in the AP Top 25 after spending every week since Dec. 9 in the national top 10. In head coach Wes Moore's seventh campaign with the Wolfpack, the team went 28-4 overall and set a program record for single-season ACC wins with a 14-4 clip.

South Carolina finished atop both major national polls at the conclusion of the 2019-20 season after going 32-1 overall and a perfect 16-0 in SEC play. The squad won both the SEC regular-season and Tournament crowns in 2020 Naismith Coach of the Year Dawn Staley's 12th season at the helm of the program.

The teams have met 30 times dating back to 1977, and NC State owns the 19-11 advantage in the overall series. Ten of the 30 matchups between the Wolfpack and the Gamecocks have been when both programs were ranked in the national top 25.

This season's game will mark the first meeting between the squads since Dec. 4, 2011. South Carolina came away with the narrow 55-53 victory in that contest, which was played inside Reynolds Coliseum.

The remainder of the 2020-21 NC State women's basketball schedule will be released at a later time.
