Charting The Running Game

With a quarterback making his first career start, it’s reasonable to assume the coaching staff would try to get the running game going as much as possible.  But, that’s not necessarily what we saw against Syracuse. Even though NC State led throughout the game it was only in the fourth quarter in which there were more rushing attempts compared to pass plays. I can only assume part of this was because NC State, yet again, was putting forth a new combination of offensive linemen due to injuries.  Furthermore, this unseasoned group was facing off against one of the more formidable defensive fronts in the ACC. So how did the running game perform when given the chance?
