Senior Guard Torin Dorn

On a 20-win season...
“I think anytime you can get 20 wins in an NCAA season, it’s definitely a feat. Hopefully that is enough to get us in, but we still have a few more games to play for our resume to put ourselves in the best position come March.”

On the next three games...
“Every win in important down the stretch, so winning as many games as possible is really of the utmost importance to us.”

On Markell Johnson’s performance...
“He came in and did his thing today, and he stepped up and made a lot of big shots. He had a career high today (in an ACC game), so he played really well today.”

On performing early in the game...
“Wake looks at us as a rival, and they’re going to start fast and play hard, so we had to come out and exceed their intensity level to start the game.”

Sophomore Guard Braxton Beverly

On Markell Johnson’s performance...
“It’s just his game and he’s capable of doing that. He’s not selfish, so he doesn’t do it much, because he always likes to get people involved. When we see him scoring like that, as well as getting people involved, it’s great and we’re happy to see that.”

Junior Guard Markell Johnson

On finding stability as a team...
Coming out with the right energy is important. You know we usually come out a little flat in ACC games like this, but today all of our hands were on our shoulders and we got right.”

On this being a revenge game...
“They got us good the first game, at their house, and we just had to come back and split it. We couldn’t go 0-2 against them this year. I didn’t play the first game so I already had a chip on my shoulder. They have a good point guard over there in Childress, so I wanted to step up to the challenge.”

On making jumpers...
”I was just feeling confident with my shooting. The energy was just different today. The whole team and the whole staff came into today with a positive attitude that we’ve had since practice a week ago.”

On recovering from injury...
“I’m good. The first few games back just took time for me to get back into the rhythm of the games. Now I’m playing harder than usual, and that started in practice just pushing myself harder, and when I was tired just telling myself I wasn’t tired.”
