Head Coach Wes Moore

“They are banged up like we are.”

“We always have a tough time when we come over here. We knew it was going to be a battle.”

“We have to get our mojo back.”

“When you go on the road you better be able to handle adversity. They’ve done a nice job of that.  You put a streak together like this you have to show up every night ready to play so I’m proud of them for that.”

“We have to get that energy back... you’ve been going to the summer and you’re not really into the urgency of March Madness.”

“It can pile up on you.  You have to try to fight through it and keep the energy going.”

“We probably should have got Ace some more looks.”

“They went to a Triangle and 2 a little bit and I thought our kids handled that well.  We’ve been practicing a couple of weeks preparing for it.”

“We haven’t talked a lot about the streak. We just play. I know it’s coach talk, but you play one game at a time. In this league you can’t afford to look ahead or behind for that matter.”

“We have some big challenges ahead of us. We have to play a lot better.”

“We’ll start focusing on the next game tomorrow.”

“Not only is it a physical pain it’s an emotional pain.”

“It will be a great crowd.  It’s going to be a big challenge. They have a lot of weapons and a lot of kids who can score... they got a lot of weapons. We’ll have to score more than 59 points, that’s for sure.”

Senior Guard Kiara Leslie

“They switched up their defense.”

“They were switching all ball screens and most of the time a post had switched on me so I was trying to exploit the mismatch.”

“We knew that driving the ball or shooting would be a really good option for this game.”

“We started a little slow but we picked it up in the second quarter into the third quarter.”

“I like to be the best in North Carolina... I compete against all the North Carolina schools, and I want to be the best one.”
