Several members of the Inside Pack Sports staff predict the winner of the NC State-East Carolina matchup.

James Henderson (IPS Publisher)
NC State 31, East Carolina 17
NC State wins this game because they are the better team, playing at home, with the better quarterback, and not dealing with any real turmoil.

Wolfpack wins, 31-17 (lower scoring due to expected poor weather).

Steve Williams (IPS Football Recruiting Analyst)
NC State 38, East Carolina 17
Pack comes out and takes control early and dominates the Pirates. I think the potential is there, especially if Ahlers is out, for State to really blow this game wide open.

Bryant Carson (IPS Football Analyst)
NC State 34, East Carolina 20
I feel sure I would’ve picked the Pack in two of the last three meetings and would’ve been wrong twice.  However, I’ve got a hard time believing that State loses this one.

Anything is possible, and there’s some call to be a little nervous if you’re a State fan, but at the end of the day State is at least a good team and ECU has been very, very bad.

Rob McLamb (IPS Beat Writer)
NC State 41, East Carolina 17
There is nothing to suggest the Pirates will be competitive with the Wolfpack or that they will have any semblance of normalcy.

Firing Scottie Montgomery on Thursday as opposed to the previous weekend compounds East Carolina’s problems.

Good or bad, Montgomery helped prepare the team all week. Now he is out, but the plan he implemented is probably in place.

Daniel Wilson (IPS Writer)
NC State 69, East Carolina 0
This is going to get rough for the Pirates who fired their head coach on Thursday. It’ll be hard for ECU to overcome its issues versus a rock-solid Wolfpack team coming off an overtime win against North Carolina.

NC State should slide its way into victory easily as it prepares for stiff competition in its bowl game, but the Pack can stroke its ego with a dominating win to cap off its regular season. ECU needs to get ready for the battle ahead because NC State is coming.

Ethan Barry (IPS Intern)
NC State 41, East Carolina 17
The game starts out pretty slow due to a combination of weather and unproductive running game.

The defense plays well, just like last week. Towards the end of the second quarter, Finley and the passing game heats up and the Pack builds a lead throughout the third quarter as Gallaspy adds to his totals.

ECU keeps it interesting for longer than the fans would like, but it's a good win to finish the season.
