The NC State men's golf team shot the best team round of the tournament in the second round a six-under-par 274 to move into third place after two rounds of the Sea Best Invitational held on the Dye's Valley Course at TPC Sawgrass.

The Pack's Stephen Franken and Christian Salzer both shot two-under-par 68 in the second round, while Easton Paxton and Benjamin Shipp both shot one-under-par 69 as NC State moved up nine spots on the team leaderboard in the second round.

Shipp leads NC State on the individual leaderboard with a two-round score of one-under-par 139. The Duluth, Ga., native shot an even-par 70 in the first round to lead NC State and followed up with a one-under-par 69 in the second round.

Franken and Salzer are next for the Pack with both players tied for 11th-place at even-par for the tournament. Both players shot a two-over-par 72 in the second round and two-under-par 68 in the second round.

Paxton is next for the Pack in a tie for 50th-place at nine-over- par 149. The sophomore rebounded from an opening round 80 to shoot to 69 in the second round.

Justin Hood rounds out the NC State lineup in a tie for 63rd place at 11-over-par 151. Hood shot rounds of 76 and 75 on Monday.

Competing as an individual, Harrison Rhoades is currently in a tie for 36th place at five-over-par 145. Like his teammates, Rhoades had his best round in the afternoon as the Raleigh native shot a one-over-par 71 in the second round after opening the tournament with a four-over-par 74.

Florida has a two-shot lead over second place North Florida after two rounds. NC State is three shots back of UNF in third place. The Pack has a four shot on fourth place Liberty.

The third and final round starts Tuesday morning at 8 a.m.

BANDON, OR The NC State men's golf team improves its team score by 26 shots in the second round to move up three spots into eighth place heading into the final round of the Bandon Dunes Championship held at the Bandon Dunes Resort.

Christian Salzer played perhaps his finest round at NC State in the second round of the tournament. The junior carded seven birdies and just two bogeys on the day to shoot a five-under par 67.

Salzer moved up 48 spots on the individual leaderboard and heads into the final round in a tie for 13th place.

Stephen Franken and Easton Paxton are next for the Pack in a tie for 30th place. Paxton shot a one-under par 71 in the second round, while Franken carded an even-par 72.

Both players are four-over par for the tournament.

Benjamin Shipp is one shot back in a tie for 40th place at five-over par. Shipp shot an even-par 72 on Monday.

Harrison Rhoades rounds out the Pack lineup in a tie for 75th place. Rhoades shot a three-over par 75 in the second round Monday.

Competing as an individual, Nolan Mills, Jr., shot a 75 in the second round and is in a tie for 83rd place.

Ohio State continues to lead the 17-team field. The Buckeyes have a two-shot lead over Utah. Denver is in third place, two shots back of Utah. The Pack is currently in eight place, four shots back of Boise State and SMU that are tied for sixth.

The third and final round begins Tuesday at 8:30 a.m.

The NC State men's golf team plays its final regular season event this weekend as it competes at the Stitch Intercollegiate held at MacGregor Downs Country Club in Cary, N.C.

The two-day, 54-hole event features 14 teams playing 36 holes on Friday and 18 on Saturday.

The NC State men's golf team begins competition in the 66th annual ACC Men's Golf Championship Thursday at the Old North State Club in New London, North Carolina.

The championship begins Thursday at 9 a.m., with No. 7 NC State, No. 8 Florida State, and No. 9 Virginia on hole 10 and No. 4 Clemson, No. 5 Louisville, and No. 6 North Carolina on hole 1. No. 10 Notre Dame, No. 11 Virginia Tech, and No. 12 Boston College start at 10 a.m. on hole 10, while No. 1 Wake Forest, defending champion and second-seed Georgia Tech, and No. 3 Duke start at 10 a.m. from hole 1.
