Incredible season comes to a close for Lauren Evans, who earned All-ACC honors in the shot put and made the first #ncaaTF Championships appearance of her career tonight.
https://t.co/YN4TLonNrWLauren Evans saw her season come to a close Thursday night, as she competed in the shot put at the 2018 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Evans reached the NCAA Championships for the first time in her career to cap off her 2018 outdoor track and field campaign. After picking up two wins in the shot put during the regular season and garnering All-ACC honors in the event, the redshirt junior qualified for the NCAA East Preliminary, where she placed ninth with a PR of 53' 10.25" (16.41m).
Her performance at the regional meet advanced her to the NCAA Championships, but Evans did not move past the first flight on Thursday evening, as she did not record a measurable throw.
NC State will be back in action Saturday as senior Erika Kemp and sophomore Elly Henes compete in the 5,000m final. The race will mark the final event of the season for the Wolfpack.
