NC State women's basketball (3-0) took early control of Sunday night's matchup with the visiting Mount St. Mary's Mountaineers (0-3) as the 10th-ranked Wolfpack tallied another early-season win by an 86-38 score.

Aziaha James led the Pack in scoring with a career-high 19. The Wolfpack sophomore shot 6-of-7 and tallied 17 of her points in the second half to take over as the highest scoring performance of the still-early season.

With a pull-up jumper at the 6:13 mark of the third quarter, senior Jakia Brown-Turner became the 37th player in program history to reach the 1,000-point milestone. She needed just five points coming into the game and finished her day with six to surpass that mark.

Diamond Johnson (13 points), Jada Boyd (11 points), and Madison Hayes (11 points) also hit double figures in scoring. Johnson's stat line came with the help of a 3-of-4 clip (.750) from three-point range, and she also tied Brown-Turner for the team lead in assists with four. Hayes led the team on the boards with 11 and posted the first double-double of her career.

The Wolfpack dominated nearly every statistical category on the afternoon, most notably out-rebounding the visiting Mountaineers by a +42 margin (63-21). NC State's 63 boards tied as the most in the Wes Moore era, and the team's 24 offensive rebounds were the most for the team since Nov. 17, 2017 and marked the sixth 20+ offensive rebound game in Moore's tenure. It resulted in a 30-3 advantage in second-chance points for the Pack. All 11 players contributed to the team's rebounding performance, with seven players hauling in five or more.

Overall, NC State shot 31-of-70 (.443) while limiting The Mount to 15-of-57 (.263). The Wolfpack continued to find its stride from three-point range, sinking eight threes for its most in a game this season. The team has now surpassed 80 points in each of its three games.

The Wolfpack continued its stride, sinking eight three's, its highest of the season thus far. Continuing to find its groove, the Pack rallied to another high scoring game, surpassing 80 points for the third game in a row.

NC State led by 11 points after a quarter, but its second-quarter dominance served to really open a lead that The Mount would never really dig into. The Wolfpack held the Mountaineers to 8.3 percent from the field (1-of-12) in the second period and outscored them 22-4 to lead by 29 after 20 minutes of action. NC State went on a 16-0 run that lasted from the 2:31 mark of the first quarter to the 6:09 mark of the second quarter, and Mount St. Mary's shot 0-of-9 from the floor during that run.

The third quarter was more even on the scoring front, but the Pack put together a 9-of-16 shooting mark (.563) in the fourth quarter to balloon its lead over the 30-point mark where it stayed for the entirety of the final period. NC State capped off its win by scoring the last 16 points of the game.

The Pack closes out its four-game home stretch on Wednesday, Nov. 16 with an evening game against Charlotte. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. from Reynolds Coliseum, and the matchup will be broadcast on ACCNX.
