NC State junior Ben Salas has earned a spot on the United States ISSF World Championship Shooting Championship Team.

Salas, who led the Wolfpack in smallbore average this past season, is one of only five male college athletes to earn a spot on the national team. He will compete in two air rifle events, one individually and one with the team.

The competition will take place in Cairo, Egypt, from Oct. 12-25. Salas' participation will be a part of the U.S. National Olympic Development Team.

In June, Salas finished first in air rifle at the USA National Championships to be named the 2022 Junior Men's Air Rifle National Champion. He and two other members of the Wolfpack Roman Karadsheh and Katie Tedeschi also competed in the 2022 National Rifle Junior Olympic Championships in May.
