Big win for Millie Rajecki yesterday, beating world #72 Yafan Wang in the first round of qualifying at Birmingham.




In the 2nd round of qualifying today, she beat world #73 Katie Volynets, and has qualified for the main draw of the tournament.


I checked the WTA live rankings, and Rajecki is currently ranked #884 in the world in singles.

Diana Shnaider will face world #38 Donna Vekic in the finals of the WTA 500 Bad Homburg tournament tomorrow morning at 7:30 AM EST. It could possibly be televised on Tennis Channel - depending on if they decide to air it or the women's final at the Eastbourne tournament which starts at the same time...or air bits and pieces of both, cutting back and forth. It's all up to Tennis Channel, I assume, as to how much of each match they wish to air.

I was watching the Tennis Channel yesterday to attempt to catch Shnaider's match, and they were cutting back and forth between matches at Bad Homberg and Eastbourne.

With her win over Pliskova, Diana Shnaider gains 45 points and currently moves up to a new career high of #27 in the world.

The original draw had Shnaider playing the winner of world #19 Victoria Azarenka and #49 Sloane Stephens in the 2nd round. But Azarenka withdrew from the tournament today with a shoulder injury. So Shnaider's path forward just got much easier.

Diana Shnaider destroys Sloane Stephens 6-1, 6-1 in the 2nd round at Wimbledon and moves on to the round of 32. She will face Emma Navarro in the 3rd round, who she beat in the semifinals at the Bad Homburg tournament about a week ago.

With the win over Stephens, Shnaider has now moved up to a new career high of #26 in the world.
