NC State men's soccer has finalized its schedule for the 2021 season, as announced by fifth-year head coach George Kiefer on Wednesday. The slate features 11 home contests set to be played at Dail Soccer Stadium and regular-season meetings with seven teams that qualified for the 2020 postseason.

Beginning in 2021, NC State men's soccer games will be free of charge. Gates will open one hour prior to the start of each home match. As NC State works toward a more normal on-campus experience, NC State Athletics will continue abiding by the current policies for campus as outlined in the University Community Standards.

Following a pair of road exhibition matches at Virginia Tech (Aug. 17) and Duke (Aug. 20), the Wolfpack will officially open the 2021 campaign with six straight home matches. NC State will welcome USC Upstate (Aug. 26) and UNC Asheville (Aug. 30) to Raleigh before hosting the George Tarantini Classic over Labor Day Weekend.

The four-team event will run matches on Sept. 3 and Sept. 6, with the Pack facing Seton Hall in the second game on Friday and UCF in the second game on Monday.

NC State then opens ACC play against Clemson on Sept. 10 before rounding out its home stint against non-conference foe James Madison on Sept. 14.

A Sept. 17 matchup at Notre Dame marks the team's first road game of the year before it returns home to host Wake Forest on Sept. 24. The Pack then prepares for three road matches in a row at Longwood (Sept. 28), North Carolina (Oct. 3) and Syracuse (Oct. 8).

The Wolfpack will play four of its final five regular-season matches at home. Down the stretch, the squad is set to host High Point (Oct. 12), Virginia (Oct. 15), William & Mary (Oct. 19) and Boston College (Oct. 29) with a trip to Louisville (Oct. 22) in the midst of that span.

The ACC Tournament quarterfinals and semifinals will be played at select campus sites on Nov. 7 and Nov. 10, and the championship game will be contested at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C., on Nov. 14.

Television selections for the Pack's matches will be announced at a later date.

This team is going to be really really good. They have a great mix of amazingly talented youth and solid vets. It's a great environment for a game too. If you're local you really should try to make it out for a game.

The NC State men's soccer team (3-1-0) wrapped up weekend action at the George Tarantini Classic by earning a 2-1 victory over the visiting UCF Knights (1-3-0) on Monday night.

In a matchup that featured two teams that are receiving votes in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 poll, Yaniv Bazini and Jared Miller were the stars of the night for the Wolfpack as they each tallied the first goal of their respective careers.

The teams ended the outing deadlocked at 11 apiece in shots, but NC State goalkeeper Leon Krapf made saves on four of the Knights' five shots on target to help put away the win.

Bazini put the first mark on the scoring column in the 16th minute with a perfectly-executed header past Knights keeper Matt Douglass. Henrique Santos sent an entry pass to Alex Hernandez in the box, and Hernandez worked his way over to the right side of the box. His ball into the goal area set Bazini up for the easy finish into the back left corner.

NC State controlled the remainder of the first half, not giving a single shot up to UCF for the final 30 minutes. After a few quality attempts by the Pack, Miller doubled the team's lead in the 43rd minute. The junior forward entered the game in the 41st minute and water no time in tallying his first points as a member of the Pack. Ivy Brisma sent a bullet of a strike ricocheting off the crossbar, but Miller was there to collect the rebound and finish the job.

UCF got on the board with just over 16 minutes left in the outing, as Gino Vivi blasted a shot from the top of the box that beat out Krapf in the top right corner.

The Wolfpack out-shot the Knights 8-2 in the first half, with the final eight strikes of the period coming from the feet or heads of NC State.

NC State is set to stop into conference play on Friday, Sept. 10 as it hosts its ACC home opener against fourth-ranked Clemson. That match is set to kick off at 7 p.m. from Dail Soccer Stadium, and the game will be aired live on ACCNX.

The NC State men's soccer team (3-2-0) opened its competitive ACC slate on Friday night, falling short to No. 2 Clemson (5-0-0) by a 2-0 score at Dail Soccer Stadium.

The Wolfpack matched up well against one of the nation's best and the reigning ACC Tournament champion. Each team tallied 13 shots on the night, and NC State owned a lot of the momentum in the second half with the 9-5 shot advantage in the period.

"Playing this type of team is a good part of the process," said head coach George Kiefer. "I think there were segments where we were on top of them. To create four or five good looks against one of the best teams in the country shows you there's some progress."

After 34:08 of scoreless action, Clemson struck first in the 35th minute after drawing a free kick 30 yards out. Leon Krapf made the diving save on Hamady Diop's initial shot that went bottom left, but Oskar gren tapped in the rebound for the score.

The Pack closed out the first half with the final three shots, forcing Clemson goalkeeper George Marks to make saves on attempts by Kuda Muskwe and Pablo Pedregosa, but the Tigers maintained the one-goal lead at the break.

NC State carried its momentum into the second half by posting the first seven shots of the period. As the Pack continued attacking, Marks was once again forced to make some saves to keep NC State off the board, including a spectacular stretch to deflect a shot by Henrique Santos in the 52nd minute.

In total, six of NC State's 13 shots were on target. The Wolfpack's pressure was well-distributed as eight different players took shot attempts, led by Pedregosa and Muskwe's three apiece.

Clemson doubled its lead in the 71st minute after 25 minutes of dominant possession by the Wolfpack. Ousmane Sylla sent a ball over to John Martin to the right of the box. Martin centered a ball that brushed off the hand of a diving Krapf, and Clemson's Isaiah Reed corralled it on the left side and put away the Tigers' second goal of the night.

NC State plays the final game in its season-opening home stretch on Tuesday, Sept. 14 when it hosts James Madison. The game is set to kick off at 7 p.m. at Dail Soccer Stadium, and it will be aired live on ACCNX.
