Are we fielding the golf team this spring? I looked online yesterday at gopack and I did not see a schedule, and other than the 21 recruiting class, the only updates were from a year ago.

FSU is hosting an ACC-only tournament this week down there, and it looks like all the ACC schools that have men's golf programs are at the tournament - except NC State. Wasn't sure if perhaps we were on some covid restriction as well, but then there was no schedule on Gopack to confirm.

since classes do not start until today, Tuesday, January 19, it may be cost savings and just play locally this season except ACC Championship

Men's golf Twitter has post that one of the assistant coaches, Van Williams, left in January to be head coach at Wofford.

Just seems weird we'd be missing the kickoff men's tournament of the year, where the other 3 local ACC teams have gone (and the ones from VA). And that there is no activity from the twitter site (other than asst coach leaving) or the go pack site.

We start Feb 1 at the Sea Best Invitational in Ponte Vedra Beach. On Mar 1, a tournament at #2....these college golfers get some pretty sweet places to play!

Easton Paxton and Benjamin Shipp both shot rounds of five-under-par 67 on Saturday as the Pack shot the second-lowest team score of the day at the Seminole Intercollegiate held at Golden Eagle Country Club.

After shooting one-under par on Friday, Shipp went five-under on Saturday, including an eagle on 18 as he moved into fifth place on the individual leaderboard at six-under-par for the tournament.

Easton Paxton and Christian Salzer are next for the Pack at three-under-par and in a tie for 11th place. Paxton matched Shipp with a five-under-par 67 on Saturday while Salzer improved on his even-par performance on Friday by shooting three-under par 69 today.

Max Steinlechner is next for the Pack in a tie for 40th place. The sophomore shot even-par on Friday and had a round of three-over par today.

Spencer Oxendine rounds out the NC State lineup in a tie for 84th place after shooting an 11-over-par 83.

Playing as an individual, freshman Nick Mathews shot a two-over par 74, a seven-shot improvement on his Friday effort.

Host Florida State remains in first place with a two-shot lead over second-place Liberty. Oklahoma moved into third, four shots back of the Flames while Oklahoma State is one shot back of the Sooners and one shot ahead of the Pack for fourth place.

The third and final round starts Sunday morning.

That was a good bounce back result for the team after an underwhelming performance at Ponte Vedra.

This was a very loaded field and was competitive with Oklahoma and OSU.
Need several more strong performances like that I would think, to qualify for the NCAAs.

Next play at Pinehurst Invitational -- I'd think taht would be a pretty competitive field as well.
