NC State identified a COVID-19 cluster within its athletics department on Jan. 13, 2021, according to the Protect the Pack website. This is the first cluster announced in 2021.

A cluster is defined as five or more cases in close proximity, according to the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.

According to the release, all individuals who have tested positive are isolated and any close contacts have been quarantined.

The Atlantic Coast Conference announced today that the Georgia Tech at NC State men's basketball game has been postponed. The game was scheduled to be played on Saturday, January 16.

The postponement follows a positive test, subsequent quarantining, and contact tracing within the NC State men's basketball program. The team is adhering to the outlined protocols within the ACC Medical Advisory Group report, which is available on theACC.com
