Against its second top-5 opponent this month, @PackMensSoccer nearly knocked off No. 1 Clemson, ultimately losing 1-0 to an 86th-minute penalty.

The Wolfpack had an excellent chance to score in the first half but was denied by the woodwork.

Aidan Foster hit a game-winner in OT to seal @PackMensSoccer's 1st ACC win of the year.

Foster: "To score a goal on this field means a lot, and it means a lot to the team because I feel like we deserve that one."

The NC State men's soccer team (3-8-2) is set to host its final home match of the season as it takes on Duke (4-9-2) on Saturday night. Kickoff between the Wolfpack and the Blue Devils is scheduled for 7 p.m. from Dail Soccer Stadium, and the match will be broadcast on ACCNX.

Due to health and safety recommendations and current state guidelines, attendance at NC State men's soccer home competitions is currently limited to a pass list of player and coach guests only. No tickets are available to the general public.

ASOMANI SENIOR NIGHT
Saturday's match will mark Senior Day for Wolfpack midfielder George Asomani. Asomani has spent the last two seasons on the NC State squad after transferring in from Monroe College prior to the 2019 campaign. As a member of the Pack, Asomani has played and started in 30 matches. He clocked 90+ minutes in 23 of those games, attempted 18 shots and has scored one goal in his career. He was a 2020 Preseason Watch List honoree, and in January, he was selected by the San Jose Earthquakes in the second round of the MLS Draft.

A WIN SATURDAY WOULD...
Be the 531st win in program history (531-463-100)
Be the 192nd win in head coach George Kiefer's career (192-114-63)
Be Kiefer's 30th victory at NC State (30-28-12)
Be Kiefer's ninth ACC win with the Pack (9-18-7)

LAST TIME OUT
NC State earned its first conference win of the season last weekend as it defeated Syracuse 2-1 in overtime.
Junior midfielder Aidan Foster scored the golden goal in the 94th minute to secure the victory. The goal was his first of the season.
Pablo Pedregosa also notched his first goal of the year, with his in the 15th minute and serving as the equalizer after Syracuse scored less than two minutes into the outing.
The game marked the Pack's first overtime win since 2018 and was its first time winning a game this season during which it gave up a goal.

SERIES HISTORY
Saturday marks the 84th overall meeting and the third matchup of the season between NC State and Duke. NC State is 21-54-8 all time against Duke.
NC State has picked up just one victory over Duke in the last 11 tries, with that win coming in 2-1 fashion during the 2019 ACC Tournament first round.
The Pack endured a 3-1 defeat to the Blue Devils on October 9, which was the last meeting between the two squads. The teams also met on Sept. 26 for the regular-season opener, with Duke coming away with the 1-0 2OT win after 109:26 of scoreless action.

UP NEXT
NC State will conclude regular-season action on Friday, April 9 as it makes the trip to Chestnut Hill, Mass., to take on Boston College.

NC State men's soccer battled through 110 scoreless minutes against the visiting Duke Blue Devils, as the Pack's final home match of the 2020-21 campaign ended in a 0-0 draw on Saturday night.

After playing its second extra time match in as many tries, the Wolfpack moved to 3-8-3 on the season.

Prior to the match, the program celebrated the career of senior George Asomani. The outing marked Asomani's 31st career start and game played in two seasons at NC State. He was selected by the San Jose Earthquakes in the second round of the MLS Draft earlier this semester.

Facing off against each other for the third time this season, neither NC State nor Duke found the back of the net in a tightly-contested duel. The Blue Devils outshot the Pack 8-2, and the teams earned four corners apiece.

Both of NC State's shots on the night were on target, with strikes from Tal Segev and Alex Hernandez both coming in the second half. Goalkeeper Leon Krapf made a 58th-minute save on the Blue Devils' only shot on goal

NC State will conclude regular-season action on Friday, April 9 as it makes the trip to Chestnut Hill, Mass., to take on Boston College. Kickoff against the Eagles is set for 1 p.m.

NC State women's soccer (4-2-1) is set to face Georgia (4-7-3) Sunday in a neutral-site matchup in Pineville, N.C., at 2 p.m.

There will only be live stats available to follow along with the match.

SERIES HISTORY
Sunday will be just the second meeting ever between the Wolfpack and Bulldogs. The teams last met on Oct. 29, 1995 in Athens, Ga., and NC State earned a 1-0 win.

LAST TIME OUT
The squad dropped a 1-0 decision with seventh-ranked Duke on April 3 in its final home match of the 2021 season at Dail Soccer Stadium.

ECHEZARRETTA NAMED TO TDS TOP 100 FRESHMEN LIST
Freshman goalkeeper Maria Echezarreta was featured on TopDrawerSoccer's Top 100 Freshmen List earlier this week, checking in at No. 100.

The Spanish native has had a stellar freshman campaign in goal for the Pack, compiling a .53 goals-against average and .765 save percentage in her seven starts. She has played every minute in goal this spring.

SCOUTING GEORGIA
In the fall, the Bulldogs went 2-4-2 in the fall in its SEC-only slate, which ended in the first round of the SEC Tournament with a 2-1 loss to Auburn. This spring, Georgia owns a 2-3-1 ledger in a slate that has featured mostly SEC and ACC teams.

In its last time out on April 3, Georgia handled Wake Forest, 4-1, in its last home match of the year.

Offensively, the team has scored 17 goals on the season, as Mollie Belisle (6), Abby Boyan (4) and Ashley Andersen (3), have combined for 13 of them. In goal, Emory Wegener has played a majority of the minutes and owns two shutouts on the year with a 1.35 goals-against average.

UP NEXT
NC State will meet with Boston College April 17 in its season finale. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m. at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary
