Victory Day is held in conjunction with GiGi's Playhouse, a Down Syndrome achievement center in Raleigh. This event gives cognitively and physically impaired young people an opportunity for their moment in the sun. Many student-athletes from the 2018 squad said after last year's event that it was one of the best nights they'd ever experienced.
This year, around 50 participants will have a chance to be a football star for the night. They will try on uniforms, meet the players and coaches, and have a chance to make an individual entrance into Carter-Finley Stadium through the tunnel, complete with band and cheerleaders.
This is a very special event that impacts the lives of
everyone involved. I am proud of our program for hosting this event. Good work!
