I've watched a ton of stuff on YouTube, and this is one of the coolest things I've ever found on there.

The man, Julius Howell, was born in 1846. This interview was recorded in 1947, when he was 101 years old. He describes his life just prior to the Civil War and during the war. He enlisted to fight for the Confederacy in 1862 at 16 years old.

Of particular note is that he says the war was not fought over the issue of slavery, but rather over the issue of "states rights".
