As we all know, this idea of multiculturalism and worship of "diversity" is the sacred cow and de facto religion of the modern Left. But has anyone seriously thought this out, and whether it is actually beneficial or if it can even work?
The reality is that multiculturalism or the idea of "globalism" where all peoples of the world mix up and live among each other under one government can never work, and is destined to failure.
Islam is the best and most glaringly obvious example of why it cannot work. Muslims believe that the laws of Islam (sharia law) supercede all other laws. Muslims that currently live in Western nations will not abide by the laws of those nations if they conflict with Islamic law. They are already setting up special sharia courts where they can implement islamic law (ie, bypassing the regular courts and law of the Western nation where they live).
Islam will set up a system of law and culture that is vastly different than that currently enjoyed in most Western nations. Under Islam, there will be no respect for freedom of speech or religious belief. If you "inslult" Mohammed or Islam, you will be put to death. Under Islam, women will be forced to cover up in burkas and will not be allowed to drive cars or have jobs outside of the home. Will Christian or "westernized" people be willing to live in a society that implements Islamic law?
Furthermore, Islam is an ideology/religion of conquest. Although this is denied by many people, the Koran instructs muslims to wage "jihad" or holy war against all peoples, forcing them to convert or die, until all the world is brought under the submission and control of Islam. It is not a "religion of peace". And this policy of jihad is not a "twisting" of the religion that is only followed by "extremists". It is a fundamental doctrine, clearly taught in the Koran.
Muslims and non-muslims cannot "coexist" in peace and harmony. There will always be conflict. Unless all non-muslims are forced to convert to islam or are killed.
Since globalism and multiculturalism cannot work, how should the world be ordered or set up?
As the world is filled with people of numerous religious beliefs and cultures that are immensely different, with laws and customs that are in many cases irreconcilable, the practical and most rational thing to do is set up nations (with borders keeping out foreigners) where people of common religious beliefs and cultures can live among each other, and have their own specific laws and customs that suit them. This is, of course, how the world operated for the vast majority of the time for thousands of years until the last 50 or 60 years, when this crusade for multiculturalism, diversity, and globalism was launched. And it will return to that order again.
