Question for you - do you differentiate between a Democrat and a Leftist? If so, how? I'm curious because you seem to be using communist and leftist interchangeably so not sure how 'democrat' fits in.
Although many people are not aware of this, all "Leftist" movements (the world over) are ideologically based in Marxism. In a nutshell, Marxism is fundamentally a movement with the following aims:
1) Waging war against Christianity and the promotion of a "secular" society (the true purpose of which is to subvert and weaken our society, causing people to become immoral and wicked and unable to resist, and to even accept, the nefarious communist agenda which is designed to enslave and exploit the masses)
2) "Wealth redistribution" to the "oppressed classes" via high taxation (which is actually designed to steal the wealth of and destroy the middle class, and siphon off most of that wealth to the elites that run the communist agenda).
3) Concentration of all power in society in a big central government that controls all aspects of our lives -- including education, press/media and dissemination of information, banking, transportation, land management, etc (the true purpose of this is to be able to enslave the population and keep them indoctrinated/controlled).
The Democratic party is, effectively, the communist party in the United States. Of course they don't openly admit that...for now. But it's obvious that the Democrats push a socialist/Marxist/communist agenda, just by examining the platform and aims of the Democratic party. At this time, the main goals of the Democratic party are tearing down Christian values (eg, fanatical support for abortion, homosexuality, transgender agenda), support for the welfare state and wealth redistribution (eg, Obamacare, Bernie Sanders promising "free" education/etc), opposition to gun rights, promotion of open borders, and now open support for censorship of conservatives.
And, of course, I realize that not all people in the United States who vote for the Democratic party are bad people who are knowingly voting for a communist agenda. Many are just ignorant of the true aims and agenda of the Democratic party.
But it's becoming more and more obvious over the last few years that the Democratic party is socialist/communist -- for example, with Bernie Sanders openly admitting he is a socialist. And now we have Antifa, which is a communist organization, becoming the foot soldiers of the Democratic party on the streets.
All that said, I oppose the Republican party because it is infiltrated and controlled (at the top) by people only pretending to be "conservatives", while actually pushing the communist agenda as well. I support the general platform of the Republican party -- ie, small government, lower taxes, pro gun rights, anti-abortion, control the borders and stop illegal immigration. But the Republican Establishment betrays conservatives on many of these issues -- for example, by not doing enough to stop illegal immigration, and supporting a big powerful government and too much government spending.
