We are busy planning for the 10th Annual Reelin' for Research tournament which will take place on April 28th out of MHC. R4R is a one day "meat fishing" tournament that has historically been offshore only. All proceeds raised from the tournament fund pediatric cancer research at the N.C. Children's Hospital in Chapel Hill. When this tournament started back in 2009, our goal was to raise $1,000,000 in ten years. We are proud to say that if everything goes as planned, we will eclipse the $3M mark at this year's 10th annual tournament.

Because of the growth of this tournament (we had nearly 70 boats fish last year), we have decided to add an inshore division this year so that those supporters that might get a little "green behind the gills" can take part in the event.

The cost to enter the tournament (inshore or offshore) is $1,000 per team. Please note that this money can be raised however the teams would like (through donations from family, businesses, friends, etc) and 100% of all entry fees go to the hospital. The inshore division will run from "lines in" at 7:00 am, "lines out" at 1:00 pm. The weigh-in will be at the MHC waterfront directly next to Jack's Waterfront Bar. The inshore weigh-in will run from 1:30-3:30, and will then be followed up by the offshore division weigh-in from 4:00-6:00. Inshore teams can consist of up to 4 anglers, and the score will come from the combined weight of 4 fish: flounder, bluefish, striper and/or drum (red or black... limit of 2 drum can be weighed).

We award prizes and gift bags to the winning teams with special awards going to the biggest fish, lady angler, and junior angler.

All tournament weekend festivities will take place at Jack's with the Captains meeting and Welcome Reception on Friday April 27 (dinner provided) and the Awards Banquet on Saturday night with dinner and The Band of Oz performing. All tournament participants get into all festivities for free, and wristbands can be purchased at the door for all non-anglers.

Please note that we are limiting the inshore division to the first 25 teams that enter. Private boats are welcomed and charters can be arranged. For more info on Reelin' for Research, or to enter a team, please visit our website at www.reelinforresearch.org

We hope to see you there!
