Please disregard the 11 below zero temp and 25 below zero wind chill at the site in Warrenton, NC. It's not THAT cold. The sensor there apparently couldn't handle the #ArcticCold.

Most locations in central NC will remain below or near freezing through midday Monday. Some good news is that with diminishing winds, wind chill values have moderated. The even better news is that temperatures will warm to above average values by late in the work week. #ncwx pic.twitter.com/cXSZplxswc

Lost it at 3:30 AM, restored about seven hours later. Still charging up all mobile devices and backup batteries against another outage. Had a drop lamp under my fake rock last night but thought sure I'd be looking at a froze-up well head this morning. Apparently, my water softener decided to do a scheduled backwash last night and ran the well pump from 1-2 AM before the outage which prolly saved my bacon. If that's my Christmas miracle, I'll take it!!ncsupack1 said:

Grand solar minimum, baby! If this is really the start of two decades of 1970s-like weather, alternative energy sources aren't gonna cut it.Wolfer79 said:
