RIP to the long haired country boy. Used to play a few of his tunes, including that one, in a country rock band I was in for a time, and always felt a connection since he spent time in my neck of the woods.

Saw him in concert at the end of 2018 in Roanoke Rapids. Good show and had alot of fun

He was a really good person and a really good entertainer. Saw him in concert while in college in 1982 and was one of the best shows I've ever been to. There was no opening act and he and his band played for 2 1/2 hours.
