Pathetic performance thus far through six innings. Outside of a brief moment in the bottom of the first, Army has completely controlled this game. Leadoff batter on seemingly every inning. Fundamental baseball to get them into scoring position, followed by a timely hit to score the run. Haven't been a fan of the State plate approaches throughout the game. I woulda expected them to take a patient approach and try to get into the Army bullpen. They've done just the opposite, swinging early and often. Army starter sitting at 70 pitches in the 7th inning.

I'm still trying to figure out why we yanked Johnson so early. It wasn't his fault we gave up 2 runs.

Lost our confidence at the plate a month ago and it never came back.

Wilson with a single. New Army pitcher. A lefty. We're screwed.

Down 5-1 with six outs left.. Kinneman swings at the first pitch and grounds out. Wilson swings at second pitch he sees. Bailey swings at the first pitch.. Just think when you're struggling at the plate as a team, and especially when you're chasing four runs in the eighth, you've got to take some pitches and try to get yourself into a hitters count or try to see if you can get a rally started with a walk.

Time for a change. Avent has had plenty of time to win something significant and he just can't get the job done. Hopefully Debbie has the guts to do the right thing and try someone else. Unless she is ok with this kind of crap. The Army coach is ten times the coach Avent is. Look at what he just did to us at our home field. Clearly out coached Avent all the way. We need someone who knows how to get the most out of his team when the season is on the line.
