Augie was the master of small ball and stud pitching. He always gave great interviews. He will be missed in Austin for sure. RIP, Augie.

The college baseball world will never be the same without Augie Garrido, dead at 79. When he stepped aside as Texas' coach in 2016, I wrote this salute to the man and his legacy. Like so many of us in this sport, I'm fortunate I had the chance to know him: https://t.co/Ei2fmJK2MP

One last thing on Augie Garrido. I respected the heck out of the way he handled the #Texas situation and handed the torch to David Pierce. He told me at LSU a few weeks ago that he made sure to "Stay out of the way" because "It's David's program now". Much respect.
