Austin Murr and Chris Villaman of the NC State baseball team collected weekly honors for their outstanding performances on the diamond last week, as Murr was named one of Collegiate Baseball's Players of the Week and Villaman was tabbed ACC Pitcher of the Week on Monday afternoon.

This is the first weekly honor of any kind for both players in their respective Wolfpack careers.

Murr compiled a .370 clip with 10 hits, 10 runs scored and eight runs batted in over six games. Seven of his 10 hits were for extra bases, highlighted by three home runs, and he led the team in seven different offensive categories last week.

The Denmark Township, Minn. native played a vital part in the Pack's series sweep at North Carolina, the program's first since 1992, as well as the team's perfect 5-0 record in its first road swing of the year.

Villaman tossed his first career complete game while allowing just one hit in the squad's 3-0 win at UNCG on March 30. The High Point, N.C. native allowed just four batters to reach base and tallied a career-best nine strikeouts. Villaman became the first Wolfpack pitcher since Feb. 15, 1997 (Brett Black at Charleston Southern) to throw a one-hit, complete game shutout and the first to throw a complete game shutout of any kind since March 30, 2019 (Reid Johnston vs. Virginia).
