This team needs a closer!
Klyman has not pitched more than 4.1 innings in his career at NC State and has never started a game at NC State.Struttingwolf96 said:
Wish the staff would use Klyman as a starter & not as a closer. Believe he would be better as a starter & maybe try Feeney as the closer.

I just think if given the chance he would be a solid starter. Why not try, you want know until you do. If he could go maybe 3-4 innings, it would be just like other guys starting. Plus, to have a lefty in the rotation always seems to be good for teams. Silver was doing a pretty good job on the weekends until the coaches switched it pitcher by committee. Parker & Johnston are lock down starters, but the staff has been looking for the third one all year long.
Well last night the starter went 2/3 of an inning, so 4.1 would be super!Wolfer79 said:Klyman has not pitched more than 4.1 innings in his career at NC State and has never started a game at NC State.Struttingwolf96 said:

What makes you think he would be better as a starter?
because Mensik is better defensivelyStruttingwolf96 said:
Wonder why the staff won't try Brown at 3rd & give Mensik a break?
no reason to believe that Klyman would do better as starterStruttingwolf96 said:
That's relief appearances. He might could put up different numbers if given the chance to start. I've pitched before & there is a different mindset from starting a game to being a relief pitcher & vice versa. Look at Dennis Eckersley, from SP to one of the great RP's. There's other examples as well. Sometimes guys do better when there struggling in different role.
2 more outs than the Sunday starting pitcher got vs Boston CollegePack87 said:Well last night the starter went 2/3 of an inning, so 4.1 would be super!Wolfer79 said:Klyman has not pitched more than 4.1 innings in his career at NC State and has never started a game at NC State.Struttingwolf96 said:

Agree on Tresh. Will crushed the ball a couple times with nothing to show for it. Frustrating when everything Coastal hit hard left the yardPack87 said:
The pitching and the bottom of the lineup are hurting right now. Debo got a couple of hits last night so maybe he comes back around. I like having Tresh in the lineup. Mensik is hurting on offense but he plays well on defense. Wilson had an off night last night but that has not been the norm.
Feeney's been the de facto closer all year, but he's slowly being worked into the rotation. He was a solid starter in 2017 before missing all of 2018 to TJS.Struttingwolf96 said:

And due to how long it takes to get all the way back from the surgery he will not be back to 100% in time to really help us this year. Based on our players who have had it in the past and how long it took them.DanielWilsonIPS said:Feeney's been the de facto closer all year, but he's slowly being worked into the rotation.
